Anheuser-Busch InBev SA pledged to spend nearly $100 million on
sustainability projects in the U.S. over two years, including solar
panels and water treatment.
The Leuven, Belgium-based beverage giant said Wednesday that
those funds are part of a broader $1 billion two-year plan across
26 U.S. states to expand its business by supporting industry job
creation and retention, stimulating economies in communities across
the country and enabling sustainable innovations. It said it has
invested almost $6 billion over the last decade in similar
measures.
By 2025, Anheuser-Busch said it aims for 100% of purchased
electricity to come from renewable sources and to cut 25% of
carbon-dioxide emissions across its chain. The company also said
all of its packaging will be made from majority recycled content or
returnable.
