Bally Gaming and Systems Announces Flamingo Las Vegas Purchase of MindPlay(TM) Technology LAS VEGAS, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bally Gaming and Systems, a business unit of Alliance Gaming Corp. (NYSE:AGI), announced today that Flamingo Las Vegas, a Caesars Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:CZR) resort, has agreed to purchase the Company's MindPlay MP21 table-game management technology and will convert its entire blackjack operation to MindPlay tables. Flamingo's decision to upgrade all 36 of its blackjack table games to MindPlay followed the successful conclusion of a six-month marketing field test and technology and performance review of the MindPlay table management system. With MindPlay, for the first time, accurate player tracking is available on table games in real time, as it has been on slot machines. MP21 gives "real-time" information on items such as time played at the game, actual amount wagered and win/loss amounts. This makes the rating and evaluation of a player accurate and therefore comping programs vastly more effective in targeting dollars to valued players. "We continue to build momentum with our MindPlay technology and we're pleased to have partners like the Flamingo and Caesars Entertainment and thank them for embracing a new technology that benefits both players and operators alike," said Richard Haddrill, President and CEO of Alliance Gaming. "This was an intensive evaluation with some truly impressive findings," said Rich Soltys, Senior Vice President of the Bally Systems MindPlay product group. "The MindPlay optical bet recognition exceeded 99.98 percent accuracy and 99.9 percent uptime in this long-term live test. We're very pleased with the results and excited to offer a product that brings both a high level of performance and reliability with an affordable price. We think this test clearly demonstrates the competitive advantages our customers will experience through proven results from a live pit." MindPlay MP21 is the industry's first and only completely automated table rating system that tracks both bet and card information. MindPlay uses standard casino chips that do not require the use of electronics to broadcast gaming data such as RFID. The Flamingo deal adds to Bally Gaming and Systems' current total penetration of 81 tables in the table-game systems market, including MindPlay live at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif., Eldorado Hotel Casino in Reno, Nev., Rainbow Casino in Vicksburg, Miss., Galaxy Casino in Macau, Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino off the coast of Venezuela and on the Ocean Jewel Casino cruise ship, operated by St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Titan Cruise Lines. The Fantasy Springs installation included the first use of the Company's gaming chip product, Money Pieces(TM) Intelligent Gaming chips. Money Pieces are designed and manufactured by the MindPlay product group of Bally Systems and feature advanced new optical reading capabilities for enhanced security and player tracking. Future MP21 installations are planned at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino in Lakeside, Calif., and Potawatomi Casino in Wabeno, Wis. MP21 achieves complete monitoring of all the table games' events including card and chip recognition. It utilizes advanced high-speed imaging and patented artificial intelligence (VisionCore(TM) imbedded image processing) to accurately determine player ratings and provide state-of-the-art security. The VisionCore system automatically recognizes chips and playing cards and reconciles every transaction to ensure accurate table statistics and player tracking. MP21 sends real-time notification alerts to specified management and surveillance terminals based on criteria defined by the operator. Card-counting algorithms and other sophisticated trending analyses provide the casino operator with powerful new tools to improve overall management.
