SRS Labs Releases New Hybrid EQ Tuning Solution Engineered to Overcome Design Limitations That Affect Audio Performance

Business Wire
SRS Labs (NASDAQ:SRSL), the industry leader in surround
sound, audio enhancement, and voice post-processing technologies,
announced today that its all new hybrid EQ tuning solution,
PureSound™, is now available to current licensee partners for
implementation. PureSound is a state-of-the-art audio EQ tuning
solution that utilizes advanced filtering technologies to precisely
tune and EQ products in order to overcome various hardware and
electronics design limitations that adversely affect audio
performance. With PureSound, OEM and ODM partners are able to form
a perfect audio foundation for their FPTVs and Sound bars,
ultimately allowing their products to sound remarkably better than
expected.
“For nearly two decades, TV and home audio equipment
manufacturers have relied on SRS Labs to not only help engineer
their products’ audio systems, but to also provide them with
solutions that address the various physical limitations which
hinder a product’s ability to produce robust audio performance and
ample volume,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, Senior Vice
President of Marketing for SRS Labs. “We specifically developed
PureSound with our numerous TV and Soundbar partners in mind. While
many competing EQ technologies can flatten a TV’s audio response
and deliver a louder overall playback volume, having an EQ by
itself isn’t usually enough to enable a TV to deliver high quality
sound. By pairing our new, intelligent hybrid EQ technology with
our advanced psychoacoustic bass sculpting technologies, PureSound
enables our partners’ products to leap the boundaries of what they
thought possible when designing them.”
By intelligently detecting the amount of resources available,
PureSound can adaptively compensate for and correct any two-speaker
audio system’s frequency response curve by applying an appropriate
mix of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) and Infinite Impulse Response
(IIR) filters to deliver a superior audio performance, making
SRS PureSound the smartest automated OEM tuning tool that
SRS has ever developed.
Features of SRS PureSound include:
- Delivers a perfectly optimized audio
foundation for any two channel TV or Sound Bar
- Advanced, intelligent hybrid EQ
technology offers the perfect balance of sound quality and
performance
- Simple, yet sophisticated professional
tuning interface
- Deep, rich enveloping bass
- Complete end-to-end tuning system
including SRS Audio ID™
In addition to delivering a perfectly flat audio baseline,
PureSound utilizes SRS’ proprietary psychoacoustic bass sculpting
technologies to maximize bass response by restoring the perception
of fundamental low frequency tones. The end result is crystal clear
high definition sound with deep rich bass.
Designed for assisting OEM and ODM product development groups,
PureSound uses a proprietary tuning interface which resides on a
notebook computer and enables TVs and Soundbars to be tuned by a
qualified Field Application Engineer nearly anywhere. Once
PureSound generates the tuning coefficients for a particular
reference design, PureSound then utilizes a patented transmission
protocol which enables the filter coefficients to be sent directly
from the notebook computer to the target platform seamlessly.
Available to SRS’ current licensee partners, SRS PureSound
further solidified the company’s position as the leading provider
of performance audio technologies to the CE industry. Companies

Soundbar products are invited to contact SRS by clicking
