OpenTV Powers Digital Cable Launch in China

OpenTV Corp. (NASDAQ:OPTV), a leading software and technology provider of advanced digital television solutions, announced today that it has launched an end-to-end middleware solution for Southern Yinshi Network Media Ltd, a subsidiary of Southern Media Corporation, one of China�s leading broadcasting groups. Southern Yinshi is responsible for the digital conversion of 18 municipal and city cable networks of Southern Media Corporation.

The end-to-end solution, powered by OpenTV Core2� middleware, enables one of the most comprehensive digital cable offerings in China featuring a variety of enhanced services including: a user interface, an interactive mosaic, as well as weather and customer care applications. The solution has initially launched with Southern Yinshi in the Yangjiang municipality of the Guangdong province.
