Fotopedia, the publisher of popular iOS apps such as Fotopedia Heritage, the Best Travel App of the Year 2011 in Apple’s iTunes Rewind in China, and eLong, a leading online travel service provider in China, today unveiled their first collaboration as the Fotopedia China application becomes available in China.

Fotopedia China is optimized for the Retina display on the new iPad with thousands of high-resolution, spectacular images of China. eLong provides consumers the largest number of directly-bookable hotels in China, is the largest seller of groupbuy hotels in China, and has received high ratings for its mobile applications.

“Our apps are very popular in China, especially on the iPad with 29% of our audience, well ahead of the USA at 15% and Japan at 10%,” said Jean-Marie Hullot, CEO of Fotopedia. “We have heard over and over that our apps create travel envy. We are proud to partner with eLong and help our audience go one step beyond as they explore the world.”

Under the new partnership, Fotopedia is promoting the eLong App for iPad directly within the brand new Fotopedia China app, as well as Fotopedia’s other popular travel apps such as Fotopedia Heritage.

“eLong is thrilled to enter into this partnership. We will bring Fotopedia users access to great deals on eLong’s market leading selection of hotels and help people realize their travel dreams. Fotopedia offers well-designed apps that help people discover beautiful destinations. It’s a perfect combination,” said Jason Xie, Chief Operating Officer of eLong.

Fotopedia serves 200 million image views per month in its applications. In addition to showcasing popular locations throughout the world, the Fotopedia apps also offer itinerary building and visual stories that present new and exciting adventures to incorporate into one’s travel plans.
