Drivers of vehicles powered by environmentally friendly compressed
natural gas (CNG) fuel can now fill up anytime at a new public
access station located in West Oakland, CA. Designed, built and
maintained by Clean Energy (Nasdaq:CLNE), North Americas leader in
clean transportation, the new station provides 24/7 access to
economical, domestically sourced CNG fuel for vehicles that range
from consumer autos, fleet cars, taxis and shuttle vans to transit
buses and refuse trucks. The new CNG station the third in the
Oakland area is located at 205 Brush Street near downtown Oakland
on land donated by the adjacent Port of Oakland. Featuring 24-hour
daily operation, Clean Energy CNG stations are also available near
Oakland International Airport, and at 8515 San Leandro Street near
the Coliseum. Oakland Goes Natural dedication ceremonies, staged
at the new station on July 26, were hosted by District 3 Oakland
City Council Member Nancy Nadel and included guest speakers
representing the partner organizations who collaborated on this
significant clean air project. Featured were Raul Godinez,
Director, City of Oakland Public Works Agency; Joseph K. Wong,
Deputy Executive Director, Port of Oakland; Jack Colbourn, Outreach
and Incentives Director, Bay Area Air Quality Management District;
Susanne Garfield, California Energy Commission; and Doug Cameron,
Northern California Regional Manager, Clean Energy. Andrew J.
Littlefair, President and CEO of Clean Energy, said, Using natural
gas helps reduce harmful air pollutants and greenhouse gas
emissions because natural gas burns cleaner than gasoline and many
other alternative fuels. Littlefair added, We are delighted to
bring this economical and environmentally friendly fueling service
to West Oakland area motorists. The City of Oakland deserves the
highest praise for their demonstrated commitment to helping ensure
a healthy environment for its citizens, and Clean Energy is very
proud to play a continuing role in that effort. The City of
Oakland secured grants from the Bay Area Air Quality Management
District and the California Energy Commission to offset the cost of
CNG station construction. About Clean Energy Clean Energy
