HOUSTON, May 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul Company
of West Houston is offering 30
days of free U-Box container storage to residents of Sealy and Wallis affected by the microburst that struck
the small towns earlier this week.
A number of folks in Sealy and
Wallis saw their properties
damaged or destroyed by the high winds from an intense storm that
hit late Tuesday. The microburst temporarily shut down Interstate
10, flipped vehicles and blew roofs off houses.
"The damage may not have impacted a wide area, but it was severe
and left people in need," said Matt
Merrill, U-Haul Company of West
Houston president. "As a member of these communities, U-Haul
makes it a point to help in times of need. One way we can do that
is through our 30 days disaster relief program."
U-Box portable moving and storage containers can be delivered by
truck to Sealy and Wallis storm victims and stored at U-Box
storage warehouses in Katy or
Houston. People seeking additional
information about the 30 days free U-Box assistance or needing to
make arrangements should contact the U-Haul Company of Houston traffic line at (800)
486-2382.
With 257 cubic feet of space and one-ton capacity, U-Box can be
delivered to and picked up at your door, packed on your timeframe,
transported to the destination of your choice and stored until the
time of your choosing. Or you can conveniently pick up our
customer-designed trailer and take your U-Box with you.
U-Haul stores offer needed supplies to help with storm recovery
like boxes, tarps, propane and propane tanks. U-Haul
urges customers to ensure their tanks are topped off since propane
is good to have in the event of long-term power outages.
U-Haul is the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and
self-storage with more than 21,000 locations across the U.S. and
Canada. In addition to its 30 days
of free self-storage assistance, U-Haul is proud to be at the
forefront of aiding communities during times of disaster as an
official American Red Cross Disaster Responder.
