--Italian state-controlled lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti may
buy up to 5% of Telecom Italia's shares, Il Sole 24 Ore
reports.
--The acquisition should be discussed at Cassa Depositi e
Prestiti's board meeting on Thursday, according to the paper.
--This comes amid a board reshuffle at Telecom Italia and a
struggle between shareholder Vivendi SA and activist investor
Elliott Management, which has built a stake of more than 5% in the
Italian telecommunications company.
