Southern Company, Georgia Power Offer Condolences To Employees, Families Affected by Metro Atlanta Vehicle Accident

ATLANTA, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- An accident involving a vanpool
vehicle used by Southern Company and Georgia Power employees
resulted in the deaths of three employees during Tuesday
afternoon's metro Atlanta rush hour. (Logo:

employees were injured in the incident. The three deceased
employees worked for Southern Company. "This is a terrible tragedy
for the Southern Company and Georgia Power families," said David
Ratcliffe, Southern Company chairman, president and CEO. "Our
thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and coworkers
of these employees." Southern Company and Georgia Power officers
visited with the families of the injured and deceased Tuesday
evening. "We assured the families that the coworkers of their loved
