Generali Switzerland on Friday said that it would prohibit staff
meetings, events and training courses with more than 10 people and
will expand its home office facilities from next week.
From March 9 to 31, the Swiss insurance company will encourage
employees to work from home, and is prohibiting business trips
until the end of March. Employees returning from risk areas must
also work from home.
"We are taking the situation very seriously and asking our
employees to follow the measures communicated to help minimize the
risk of infection," said Andreas Kruemmel, chief executive of
Generali Switzerland, which is part of Assicurazioni Generali
SpA.
The Swiss government has banned all major events with more than
1,000 people until at least March 15.
