--Italian insurer Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G.MI) is expected to start exclusive talks soon over the possible sale of its 40 billion euro ($46.45 billion) German life insurance portfolio to Viridium, Reuters reported Thursday, citing a person close to the matter.

--People familiar with the matter said no final decisions had been made and that talks could still fall through, according to Reuters.
