Crystal Adopts SulNOxEco™ in
Fast-Growing Cruise Market
(Aquis Stock Exchange:
SNOX)
SulNOx is thrilled to announce a
successful shipping evaluation with Crystal, the leader in
exceptional cruise experiences. This marks SulNOx's first public
foray into the rapidly expanding cruise market.
The Crystal Symphony, a 51,068 gross
tonnage vessel powered by six Wärtsilä-Sulzer diesel engines, took
its initial delivery of SulNOxEco while berthed in Athens in April
2024. The evaluation, organised in collaboration with SulNOx master
distributor A&S International, spanned May to December 2024.
Data revealed an average fuel saving of 3.4% over the period,
accompanied by a significant reduction in black smoke emissions - a
critical improvement for cruise operators navigating ports and
Norwegian fjords.
Roberto Fazi, Senior Vice President
of Marine Operations, Crystal, added, "The results of the tests carried out after
the introduction of SulNOxEco onboard have proven to be very
promising. We observed measurable fuel savings, cleaner engines,
and reduced emissions. As sustainability becomes a key driver for
growth in the cruise sector, this innovation helps us enhance
operational efficiency, reduce our environmental impact, and
provide a more sustainable experience for our guests."
Building on the success of this
evaluation, Crystal is willing to adopt SulNOxEco across its fleet,
embracing sustainable innovation to meet the demands of a rapidly
growing industry. With the cruise holiday market projected to grow
from USD 9.2 billion in 2023 to USD 25.4 billion by 2033 (Source:
Spherical Insights & Consulting LLP), the need for
environmentally responsible solutions has never been
greater.
SulNOx CEO Ben Richardson stated:
"We are excited to be working
with such a well-known brand in the fast-growing cruise ship
market. The flip side of this increasingly popular leisure activity
is the existing and potential level of environmental pollution from
some extremely large vessels. SulNOx is pleased to be part of the
solution for the industry, helping to reduce emissions
significantly while delivering fuel cost savings and supporting
ship operators to meet sustainability and CII
goals."
Angus MacDonald, Director of SulNOx
master distributor A&S International, commented: "It has been a pleasure working closely with
the Crystal team and the Crystal Symphony crew, demonstrating the
emission reduction and fuel saving capabilities of SulNOxEco over
the extensive evaluation. The real-world benefits are plain to see,
and we're excited to continue supporting the maritime industry's
journey toward a greener future."
SulNOxEco's biodegradable and
organic formulation represents an immediate, zero-capex transition
solution for industries under pressure to reduce emissions and fuel
consumption while meeting regulatory targets.
