information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Friday that its Aruba refinery is
nearing planned rates after being offline for roughly 18 months.
The company also announced turnaround plans at six of its
refineries in the first and second quarters of 2011 on
Wednesday.
The Hovensa refinery, jointly owned by Hess Corp. (HES) and
Venezeula's national oil company Petroleos de Venezuela S.A., in
St. Croix announced Wednesday that it is permanently reducing crude
oil throughput by shutting certain older units in the first quarter
in an effort to improve performance in tough economic
conditions.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO) said that a process unit at its Los
Angeles-area oil refinery was restarted Thursday, two days after it
experienced an upset. The restart of the unidentified unit began
Wednesday. The incident did had no impact on production.
Citgo Petroleum Corp. said Wednesday its Corpus Christi, Texas,
refinery has started a new ultra low sulfur diesel unit, allowing
the company to produce this fuel entirely in house.
Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) plans to shut a hydrocracker for
maintenance at its Torrance, Calif., oil refinery on Feb. 7-28,
West Coast traders and marketers said Tusday. The company said that
extra pressure at a tank caused the unplanned flaring activity at
its Torrance, Calif., oil refinery Tuesday morning.
Exxon said Tuesday that while a key gasoline-making unit at its
joint-venture oil refinery in Chalmette, La., was taken out of
service Saturday for maintenance, the rest of the refinery is
operational
A crude unit at BP PLC's (BP) oil refinery in Texas City, Texas,
is going into turnaround maintenance, while similar work continues
at a key gasoline-making unit, a person familiar with operations at
the plant said Tuesday.
A key gasoline-making unit at Pasadena Refining Systems Inc.'s
oil refinery in Pasadena, Texas, will be taken out of service on
Feb. 28 for 44 days of planned turnaround maintenance, the company
said in a statement Tuesday.
