France issued 5 billion euros ($5.36 billion) in a new May 2054-dated government bond, or OAT, via a bank syndicate on Tuesday, with books closing above EUR47 billion, one of the lead manager banks said.

The spread on the bond was set 9 basis points above the yield of the 0.75% May 2053 OAT, the same bank said.

Lead managers of the transaction were BNP Paribas, Citi, Credit Agricole CIB, HSBC and Societe Generale.
