The U.S. International Trade Commission on Tuesday said it
determined that aluminum foil imported from Armenia, Brazil, Oman,
Russia and Turkey has injured the U.S. industry.
The board said the U.S. Department of Commerce determined is
"sold in the United States at less than fair value and subsidized
by the governments of Oman and Turkey."
The ITC said the Commerce Department will "issue countervailing
duty orders on imports of this product from Oman and Turkey and
antidumping duty orders on imports of this product from Armenia,
Brazil, Oman, Russia, and Turkey."
The Aluminum Association, a trade group, said: "In 2019, the
value of U.S. imports of aluminum foil from these countries was
approximately $272 million."
The group also said its Foil Trade Enforcement Working Group
filed petitions requesting relief in September of last year.
