Moderna Inc. and International Business Machines Corp. are
teaming up on vaccine management by exploring technologies for
vaccine management, with the initial work partly focusing on
tracking vaccine batches as they travel from plants to
administration sites, the companies said.
IBM's technology can help information sharing among governments,
healthcare providers, life-science organizations and individuals,
the companies said Thursday.
"As governments, pharmacy chains, healthcare providers and life
sciences companies continue to scale and connect their tools, and
as new players enter the supply chain, open technology can help
drive more transparency and bolster trust, while helping to ensure
accessibility and equity in the process," said Jason Kelley, an IBM
managing partner.
IBM also has a Digital Health Pass platform, which uses
blockchain technology to verify health credentials of individuals
in a system, the company said.
