Volkswagen AG and startup Shanghai DU-POWER New Energy Technical Co., Ltd are partnering to produce flexible quick-charging stations in China, the German car maker said Wednesday.

The parties are launching a joint venture, in which they will each have a 50% stake. The company, which will be based near Shanghai, should start production in the second half of the year.
