Henderson, NV -- September 13, 2017 -- InvestorsHub NewsWire --
Affinity Beverage Group, Inc., (hereinafter "The
Company") a publicly traded company under the ticker symbol
(OTC
- Pink:ABVG) announced today that it has executed a letter of
intent to acquire a majority interest in Artisanal Edge, LLC
(hereinafter, “Artisanal”), the owner of JAWEA (www.eatjawea.com) dairy-free frozen
desserts. JAWEA, (pronounced, Jah-Way-ah) launched in New York City
by founder Michael Rosenthal in late 2015, is a line of
delicious, all natural, vegan, gluten and soy free, coconut
based “ice cream” which is currently available in 5 flavors
that were inspired by adventures from across the globe. The brand
is currently sold in over 250 locations in the Northeastern United
States, including, Wholefoods Market, Wakefern/Shop Rite, Fairway,
Bareburger as well as many other restaurants, grocery stores and
specialty retailers in the New York Metro/Tri-State area. The
company has also secured distribution through divisions of UNFI and
Sysco, two of the country’s largest food and beverage
distributors.
JAWEA was created for the health-conscious, but not
health-crazed consumer. Not only is it non-dairy, it also contains
about half the sugar of traditional ice cream and top-quality
ingredients, so you can feel good about eating ice cream again.
With sales of roughly $2.6 billion in 2016, specialty frozen
deserts is the #3 fastest growing category in the specialty food
segment and is the most purchased category in the segment according
to the Specialty Food Association.According to NIH "approxiamtely
65% of the human population has a reduced ability to digest
lactose after infancy" a staggering number that includes
roughly 100 million Americans of whom 19%
now purchase dairy-fee alternative products. With more and
more people, especially millennials, seeking healthier and
non-dairy food options, due to dietary restrictions, lactose issues
etc.,people are gravitating to non-dairy based deserts, especially
ice cream. In a recent New York Times article “Mark Van Buskirk,
group vice president for grocery merchandising at Albertsons
Companies, which operates the Safeway supermarket chain, among
others, said that sales of all non-dairy products had been steadily
increasing over the past two years, with packaged non-dairy ice
cream leading the way (up by 50 percent over the last 12
months)”.
“Everyone loves ice cream but not everyone has been able to
enjoy it because there have been limited options for those who
require non-dairy ice cream and are looking for great tasting
non-dairy products. Mike (Rosenthal) has done a tremendous job of
developing a fantastic product line that we feel fits squarely into
our health and wellness platform where there are a lot of potential
synergies with our other brands, projects and initiatives that we
are currently pursuing. We have had a working relationship with
Artisanal/Jawea as an advisor, broker and sales partner for the
past year, so it is understandable why we are extremely excited
about the potential of adding this line of business to our growing
portfolio of health and wellness lifestyle brands. In fact we have
already been working on several very unique opportunities to expand
the sales and distribution footprint of the product into untapped
markets that we feel could be a sweet (pun intended) spot for the
brands long term growth,” stated Affinity CEO, Janon Costley. The
Company is completing final due diligence and anticipates setting a
closing date in the very near future. More details will follow at
that time. Please continue to follow Affinity Beverage for further
updates.
