UK consumer confidence index unexpectedly rose in November
In the UK, the consumer confidence index advanced to a level of -14.00 in November, compared to a reading of -17.00 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to fall to -18.00.
US Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index advanced more than expected in November
In the US, the Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index climbed to 39.00 in November, compared to a reading of 23.80 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to climb to a level of 24.00.
US initial jobless claims fell less than expected in the week ended 12 November 2021
In the US, initial jobless claims dropped to a level of 268.00 K in the week ended 12 November 2021, compared to a level of 269.00 K in the previous week. Markets were expecting initial jobless claims to fall to 260.00 K.
US leading economic index rose in October
In the US, the leading economic index registered a rise of 0.90% on a MoM basis in October, compared to a revised rise of 0.10% in the previous month.
Japan’s national consumer price index (CPI) rose less than expected in October
In Japan, the national CPI rose 0.10% on a YoY basis in October, compared to a rise of 0.20% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the CPI to record an advance of 0.5%
