FRANKFURT--Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA said Friday
it is buying 85% of Sandor Nephro Services, India's second largest
dialysis care provider, as it aims to boost its core business in
one of the world's fastest growing economies.
The German company, which is the world's largest provider of
dialysis products and services, said it acquired the stake from a
group of investors. The parties agreed not to disclose financial
details of the transaction, but Fresenius Medical Care expects the
investment to boost after-tax earnings from 2017 onward.
Under the brand name "Sparsh Nephrocare," the company operates a
network of more than 50 dialysis centers across India.
Fresenius Medical Care is part of German healthcare company
Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA (FRE.XE).
