Elite Learning, a comprehensive online learning provider for licensed professionals, today announced the release of the 2024 Nursing State of the Profession and Salary Guide, an annual guide that provides peer responses to nursing career questions regarding salaries, certifications, areas of employment, and specialty interests, as well as perspectives from licensed nurses on the current state of healthcare in the United States.

Current Trends in Nursing Profession and Salary

“Every year, we create this guide to better understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing our fellow healthcare professionals,” said Candace Pierce, DNP, RN, Senior Course Development Manager of Nursing at Elite Learning. “The findings are based on real feedback to provide our customers a platform to speak out on questions that mean a lot to them, from the current state of the profession to nursing salary questions, AI and healthcare, and many other topics that are top of mind for nurses right now.”

The 2024 Nursing State of the Profession and Salary Guide is Elite Learning’s second consecutive annual guide. It summarizes the current outlook of nurses across the country. Highlights of the guide include:

  • The ability for nurses to compare salary and benefits with their peers.
  • Highlights of career opportunities and salary potential for specializations.
  • An overview of current critical nursing challenges as well as celebration of meaningful initiatives that support nurses.

Over 2,500 nurses responded to Elite Learning’s survey with questions asking nursing professionals for input on salaries and benefits, shifts worked, what they like best and least about their shift/work environment, what concerns they have about the profession, and what encourages them about the profession.

“We want our nursing customers to know that we are listening and are here for them, just like they are always here for their patients,” continued Pierce. “We are excited to share the survey results in the this engaging nursing salary guide and hope that it is helpful to everyone in the profession or thinking about becoming part of the profession.”
