Univision Deportes, the undisputed home of soccer, regardless of language, announced that the leading No. 1 Spanish-language sports network, Univision Deportes Network (UDN), delivered record-breaking ratings and double-digit growth this first quarter in key metrics for its sports content across media platforms. UDN finished the first quarter as the No. 3 sports network, regardless of language, during primetime among Adults 18-49, besting FOX Sports 1, ESPN2, NFL Network, and NBA TV, among others. This is the sixth straight year of growth for UDN and the fourth time it has ranked as the No. 3 sports network in primetime among Adults 18-49 for a quarter.

“Univision Deportes has transformed into one of the country’s leading sports media brands with the strongest live soccer portfolio in America. Couple that with the No. 1 Spanish-language sports network for the last six years, we have certainly made our mark within the sports industry,” said Juan Carlos Rodriguez, president of Univision Deportes. “These first quarter results are a testament to the hard work and dedication our team delivers every day, ensuring that our viewers are receiving the best-in-class sports content. We look forward to bringing our fanáticos more of their favorite leagues, teams and players, all under one roof, throughout 2018.”

Driving the wins this quarter is Liga MX. On UDN, Liga MX averaged 326,000 Total Viewers 2+ and 191,000 Adults 18-49. In fact, Liga MX on UDN is up 79% versus NBA on NBA TV and 68% versus NHL on NBCSN. Additionally, Liga MX on Univision Network averaged 938,000 Total Viewers 2+ and 507,000 Adults 18-49. Univision Deportes’ robust rights portfolio including MLS, the Mexican National Team (MNT), the U.S. Men’s National team (USMNT), CONCACAF Champions League, Bundesliga, and Formula 1, among others, also contributed to UDN’s first quarter wins.

Univision Deportes launched UDN in April 2012, and since then it has become one of the most successful sports channels in the U.S. and the fastest-growing sports network, regardless of language, in primetime. Throughout 2018, over 50% of all soccer consumption in the U.S. has been viewed through the networks of Univision as well as the top 20 soccer matches.
