NEW SUSTAINABILITY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Forth Ports PLC has been selected for membership into the new Kempen/SNS Smaller
Europe SRI Index, which was launched on 1st October 2003.
Membership is available only to those companies with the very highest standards
and practice in the three areas of business ethics, human resources and the
environment. Following extensive analysis, Forth is pleased to announce that it
has passed the exacting standards imposed.
Forth is working hard to be a responsible citizen in the communities in which it
operates and is pleased that its engagement endeavours have been recognised.

Kempen/SNS Smaller Europe SRI Index
On 1 October 2003 Kempen Capital Management and SNS Asset Management launched
the first-known socially responsible investment index, tracking the performance
of smaller companies in Europe. The Kempen/SNS Smaller Europe SRI Index aims to
give smaller companies an opportunity to demonstrate their socially responsible
business practices to their stakeholders. The index, which is maintained by HSBC
Bank in Edinburgh, currently comprises 86 companies from 14 countries.
Forth Ports
Forth Ports PLC owns and operates seven ports in the UK - Tilbury on the Thames,
Dundee on the Tay Estuary, and five in the Firth of Forth - Leith, Grangemouth,
Rosyth, Methil and Burntisland.
Within and around the Forth and Tay Estuaries, Forth Ports manages and operates
an area of 280 square miles of navigable waters, including two specialised
marine terminals for oil and gas export, provides other marine services, such as
towage and conservancy, and is involved in property, letting and development.
