                Venture Production plc (the "Company")

Purchase of Shares by Venture Production plc IOM Employee Benefit Trust (the
Trust)

Venture Production plc announces that it was notified on 31 May 2007 that the
Trust had acquired 500,000 ordinary shares of #0.004 pence in the Company at 700
pence each.

The Company's shares held by the Trust are used to satisfy awards in the
Company's Long-Term Share Incentive Plan, Annual Deferred Share Bonus Plan and
Employee Annual Bonus Plan.

The Executive Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility are
potential beneficiaries of the Trust and are deemed to be interested in the
shares held by the Trust.

Following this transaction the Trust retains an interest in 860,451 shares,
representing 0.63% of the Company's total issued ordinary share capital.
