Director/PDMR Shareholding

Option Exercises under the Venture Production Company Limited Unapproved Share
Option Plan and the Venture Production plc 2002 Employee Share Option Scheme

The Company was notified on 31 May 2007 of the following changes in the
interests of Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility
('PDMRs') in the Ordinary Shares of 0.4p each of the Company (the 'Shares') as a
result of the exercise of share options on 30 May 2007. The options were
satisfied by the issue of new Shares in the Company.

Notification Under DR 3.1.4 (R) (1) (b)

Mike Wagstaff exercised options over 1,126,500 Shares in the Company,
representing 0.83% of the issued share capital of the Company, at option prices
between 62.0p and 84.4p per Share. On the same date he sold 530,349 Shares,
representing 0.39% of the issued share capital of the Company at a price of 700p
per Share to cover the costs and taxation liability arising upon receipt of the
Shares. He has retained the remaining 596,151 ordinary shares, representing
0.44% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Jon Murphy exercised options over 1,126,500 Shares in the Company, representing
0.83% of the issued share capital of the Company, at option prices between 43.6p
and 84.4p per Share. On the same date he sold 536,468 Shares, representing 0.39%
of the issued share capital of the Company at a price of 700p per Share to cover
the costs and taxation liability arising upon receipt of the Shares. He has
retained the remaining 590,032 ordinary shares, representing 0.43% of the issued
share capital of the Company.

Notification Under DR 3.1.4 (R) (1) (a)

Rod Begbie exercised options over 195,000 Shares in the Company, representing
0.14% of the issued share capital of the Company, at option prices between
120.0p and 150.0p per Share. On the same date he sold 93,775 Shares,
representing 0.07% of the issued share capital of the Company at a price of 700p
per Share to cover the costs and taxation liability arising upon receipt of the
Shares. He has retained the remaining 101,225 ordinary shares, representing
0.07% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Simon Wisker exercised options over 32,000 Shares in the Company, representing
0.02% of the issued share capital of the Company, at option prices between 67.5p
and 84.4p per Share. On the same date he sold 15,259 Shares, representing 0.01%
of the issued share capital of the Company at a price of 700p per Share to cover
the costs and taxation liability arising upon receipt of the Shares. He has
retained the remaining 16,741 ordinary shares, representing 0.01% of the issued
share capital of the Company.
