Transfer of Own Equity Shares

Venture Production plc announces the transfer of 49,500 ordinary shares of 0.4p
each held in treasury pursuant to share obligations arising from the exercise of
options granted under the Company's share option plans. The settlement date for
the transfer was 14 February 2007. The price received was 84.4 pence per share.

Following this notification the Company has 133,496,293 ordinary shares in issue
and holds no treasury shares.
