Venture Production plc (the "Company")

Transfer of Treasury Shares

Venture Production plc announces that on 8 February 2007 it transferred
3,501,096 ordinary shares of 0.4 pence each, representing 2.62% of the Company's
issued ordinary share capital, out of treasury into the Venture Production IOM
Employee Benefit Trust (the "Trust").

Following this transaction the Trust holds 5,447,693 ordinary shares which is
4.08% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.

The Company now holds 49,500 in treasury and has 133,446,793 ordinary shares in
issue, excluding treasury shares.
