Transfer of Own Equity Shares


Venture Production plc announces the transfer of 1,950 ordinary shares of 0.4p
each held in treasury pursuant to share obligations arising from the exercise of
options granted under the Company's share option plans. The settlement date for
the transfer was 19 December 2006. The price received was 84.4 pence per share.
Following this notification the Company holds 1,389,846 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 132,106,447 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury
shares.
