Transfer of Own Equity Shares

Venture Production plc announces the transfer of 23,250 ordinary shares of 0.4p
each held in treasury pursuant to share obligations arising from the exercise of
options granted under the Company's share option plans. The settlement date for
the transfer was 24 November 2006. The minimum price received was 76.0p per
share and the maximum price was 84.4p per share.

Following this notification the Company holds 1,396,796 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 132,099,497 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury
shares.
