Transfer of Own Equity Shares

Venture Production plc announces the transfer of 52,750 ordinary shares of 0.4p
each held in treasury pursuant to share obligations arising from the exercise of
options granted under the Company's share option plans. The settlement date for
the transfer was 8 November 2006. The minimum price received was 65.6p per share
and the maximum price was 84.4p per share.

Following this notification the Company holds 1,425,546 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 132,070,747 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury
shares.
