Venture Production plc (the "Company")

Transfer of Own Equity Shares

Venture Production plc announces the transfer of 37,500 ordinary shares of 0.4p
each held in treasury pursuant to share obligations arising from the exercise of
options granted under the Company's share option plans. The settlement date for
the transfer was 7 November 2006. The price received for the shares was 170p per
share.

Following this notification the Company holds 1,478,296 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 132,017,997 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury
shares.
