                      VENTURE PRODUCTION plc ("the Company")

                           Application for admission


Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for the admission of 9,050,000 Ordinary Shares of 0.4p each in the
Company ("Shares") to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to
trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities.  These
Shares, which will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing shares in
issue, will be allotted pursuant to the Company's acquisition of CH4 Energy
Limited which was announced earlier today.

Admission is expected to become effective on Thursday, 3 August 2006.
