Purchase of Own Equity Shares


Venture Production plc announces that on 22nd June 2006 it purchased 125,000
ordinary shares of 0.4 pence each. The maximum price paid was 665.5 pence and
the minimum price paid was 659.5 pence. The shares so purchased will be held as
treasury shares.


Following this transaction the Company holds 1,795,780 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 122,650,513 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury
shares.
