Venture Production plc (the "Company")

Purchase of Own Equity Shares

Venture Production plc announces that on 14th June 2006 it purchased 30,000
ordinary shares of 0.4 pence each. The maximum price paid was 650 pence and the
minimum price paid was 648 pence. The shares so purchased will be held as
treasury shares.

Following this transaction the Company holds 1,570,780 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 122,875,513 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury
shares.
