Manchester, UK. 26 November 2004 *The Company received notification on 26
November from Close Brothers Group plc, that it is interested in 23,776,387
shares of 1p each in the Company ("Shares") representing approximately 11.17%
of the Company's issued share capital. This is following the placing of
74,477,000 ordinary shares of the company at a price of 5.65 pence per share
announced on 2 November 2004, dealings in which commenced on AIM today.

These shares are registered as follows:

Finsbury Life Sciences Investment Trust plc 13,120,696

Other investment funds (below 3% each) 10,655,691

Total 23,776,387

The above interests are non-beneficial to Close Brothers Group plc and arise by
virtue of the discretionary management of the above shares under written
agreements between the beneficial owners of the shares and Close Investment
Limited, Close Venture Management Limited, Close Finsbury Asset Management
Limited and Reabourne Technology Investment Management Limited, all of which
are subsidiaries of Close Brothers Group plc.
