            Statement from Peter Raymond, Chairman and Acting CEO            


"The Directors of Tepnel Life Sciences PLC have confirmed their confidence in
the Company's technology and its commercial future by purchasing a combined
total of 50,000 additional shares earlier today. 

Whilst the departure of the CEO, announced yesterday for wholly personal
reasons is disappointing, this in no way diminishes the business potential of
Tepnel or relates to the Company's technology.

The business strategy is focused on finding strategic business to business
partners to realise the Company's potential in DNA sample purification,
amplification and detection, and discussions with a number of potential
