ADDITIONAL LISTING

Application has been made for the admission to trading on AIM of 1,917,444 new
ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Shares"), issued pursuant to two
separate subscription agreements.

1,757,444 Shares have been allotted, at 30 pence per share, to Orchid
Biosciences Inc. pursuant to the subscription agreement announced on 1 October
2001.

The balance of 160,000 Shares have been allotted, at 30 pence per share, to
BlueMantle Investments Limited pursuant to a subscription agreement dated 10
December 2001. Bluemantle Investments Limited is landlord of the company's new
Wythenshawe Head Office and the subscription agreement has been entered into
in lieu of additional premises specification and fit-out costs.

Dealings are expected to commence on 18 December 2001.
