Sportsworld Media Group plc (the "Company")


Update

On 1 March 2002 the Company announced that it was considering its strategic
options including the sale of the Company or significant parts of its business.
To date, the Board has received significant interest from a number of potential
purchasers in acquiring various parts of the Company.  However, no offer has
been received for the whole and the Company is not in discussions which might
lead to an offer for the entire Company.  The Board has resolved that it will
embark exclusively on a sale of separate parts of the Company or the securing of
alternative financing arrangements.  The Company's current debt facilities
expire on 31 March 2002 but the Company's bankers have indicated their
continuing support beyond this date whilst the sale process is continuing.

The Company had also previously announced that it expected to release interim
results for the six months ended 31 December 2001 on or before 28 March 2002.
Given the uncertainties as to the basis on which such accounts should be
prepared in view, inter alia, of its financial position and the disposal
process, the Company has decided, in consultation with its advisers, to postpone
the announcement of interim results until such uncertainties are resolved.
