                    SDL INTERNATIONAL HIRES FLOYD BRADLEY

                                      AS

                 EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, SALES & MARKETING


SDL plc ("SDL International" or "the Company"), the leading provider of
globalisation software, localisation services and internationalisation
solutions, today announced that Floyd Bradley has been appointed as Executive
Vice President, Sales & Marketing with effect from 1st June.  Mr Bradley has
accordingly resigned his position as a non-executive director with immediate
effect.

Mr Bradley will have overall responsibility at SDL International for all
product, services and solutions sales and marketing world-wide, and will
report directly to Mark Lancaster.

Mr Bradley is an experienced computer industry executive, having been UK
Managing Director for Lotus Development in the mid 1980's and Senior Vice
President International for Ashton-Tate up to the early 1990's, as well as
fulfilling important roles as Director of European Marketing for Cullinet
Software, General Manager of European Software Publishing, Chief Executive of
DecisionWorks and most recently Group Vice President for First Consulting
Group.  Mr Bradley, a co-founder of the Company, has also been non-executive
director and strategy consultant since the formation of SDL International in
1992.
