Acquisition of Aslan Localisation Services Limited ("Aslan")


SDL announces that it has today acquired the entire issued share capital of
Aslan for a total consideration of IR# 275,000 which is to be satisfied with a
cash payment of IR#137,500 and the issue of 16,946 ordinary shares of 1p each
("Consideration Shares").

Based in Dublin, Ireland, Aslan provides in-house testing and onsite
engineering services to the software localisation market, including companies
such as FileNet, Corel and Sun Microsystems.

Application has been made for the Consideration Shares to be admitted to the
Official List of the London Stock Exchange and dealings are expected to
commence on Thursday 16 March 2000.

laboratory and onsite solution for Quality Assurance testing and engineering.
In addition, our range of services and personnel skillsets will allow
customers to choose the solution that best meets their needs; by selecting
either experienced onsite Quality Assurance testers and engineers or selecting
to utilise the extensive in-house test bed facilities."
