The Board announces the following valuations of certain investments in the
Company.

- SDL Plc
Enterprise Capital Trust Plc holds 3,000,000 shares in SDL Plc, representing
8.9% of the Company's share capital. As at the close of business on 14
February 2000 the share price of SDL Plc was 8.05p. To reflect the size of the
Company's holding and the restriction on sale, which will fall away 180 days
from flotation on 7 December 1999, the Board has applied a 10% discount to the
value, resulting in a valuation of the holding at approximately #21.3mil.

- Bookham Technology Limited
Enterprise Capital Trust PLC has a holding of 432,800 ordinary shares in
Bookham valued at $30.00 representing the price per share of the latest round
of financing as at the 14 February 2000. The Company's holding is valued at
approximately $8mil.

After taking into account the above changes in valuations the estimated
unaudited net asset value per share of Enterprise Capital Trust PLC as at 14
February 2000 was 116.19p.
