GBL Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH (GBL) and Bertelsmann AG (Bertelsmann) have
each notified RTL as well as the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur
Financier in Luxembourg that the transaction announced on 5 February 2001
whereby Bertelsmann acquired the 30 % stake in RTL, which had previously been
held by a subsidiary of GBL, has become effective.
