    Holdings of Prospect Japan Fund Limited by Japan Omnibus Limited

    Prospect Japan Fund Limited (the "Company") has today received from each of Permal Investment Management Services Limited, Permal Asset
Management Inc., Permal Japan Holdings, N.V. and Japan Omnibus  Limited ("Japan Omnibus" and, together, "Permal"), in accordance with DTR
5.1.2, a Form TR-1 to reflect holdings by Japan Omnibus in the Company.
    The current holding in the Company by Permal represents 29.99 % and has not increased or decreased by more than 1% since 2001.  
    Permal has assured the Company that they have no intention to acquire shares representing 30% or more of the voting rights of the
Company.
