KBC received on 20 August 2004 the notification below from M&G Investment
Management Limited in connection with the  Companies Act 1985 (as amended).  The
notification was made due to one of the subsidiary company's holdings moving 
through a percentage point, although the holdings of the group overall would not
have been notifiable.
