                     �185,000 RAISED VIA PLACING OF SHARES

Central China Goldfields plc is pleased to announce that it has raised �165,000
in a placing with an existing shareholder, for working capital through
Alexander David Securities Limited. In addition �20,000 has been raised from
certain Directors of the Company.

In total, the placing is for 12,333,333 new ordinary shares placed at 1.5 pence
per share (the "Placing Shares").

Application will be made for the Placing Shares to be admitted to AIM and it is
expected that trading will commence on 12 January 2009. The total number of
shares in issue will be 157,867,191.

Following the above transactions, the following Directors' shareholdings in GGG
will be:

The total number of shares held by Directors following the admission of the
Placing Shares will be 13,484,029 shares*, representing 8.54% of the share

*Includes 3,240,625 shares held by Marshall Lake Mining plc, of which Paul
McGroary is the Chairman and a major shareholder.
