GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY AT DONG MAO HUO GOLD PROJECT
SHOWS LARGER POTENTIAL
LONDON - 13 July 2007 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased to
announce further exploration work at the Dong Mao Huo gold project. Dong Mao
Huo ("DMH") is a small-scale gold mine in Inner Mongolia (Nei Menggu) Province,
China.
Under GGG's Joint Venture Agreement with Shandong Zhengyuan Geology & Resource
Co. Ltd, the area under the Joint Venture is the DMH Mining Licence and two
exploration licences in the area surrounding the Mining Licence.
Highlights:
* Induced Polarisation/Resistivity survey results at the Dong Mao Huo Gold
Project area show several new and larger chargeability / resistivity
anomalies compared with the known mineralised area.
Jeff Malaihollo, Managing Director of Central China Goldfields, comments:
"We have decided to run an Induced Polarisation/Resistivity ("IP/RES") survey
ahead of the drilling programme to guide us where to locate our drill holes. IP
responses potentially indicate sulphide mineralisation at the subsurface.
Generally, gold and other precious metals are commonly associated with the
sulphides. RES responses may assist in finding faults or permeable or resistive
rocks associated with the mineralisation.
Once we have completed the drilling, which is scheduled to commence in early
August, we can fast-track this project to assess the possibility of an open-pit
bulk mining operation."
Geophysical Survey Details:
The High Resolution geophysical survey work was completed in the first week of
July 2007. Nineteen IP/RES lines with an average length of 1.6 kilometers for a
total of 31 line kilometers were run over a 5.4 square kilometre area. The
closely-spaced pole-dipole survey consisted of 50 metre spacing between
stations and 200 metre line spacing.
The survey was designed to test the Induced Polarisation/Resistivity response
of known mineralised bodies and to investigate the potential for lateral and
vertical extensions of these bodies.
Preliminary processing of these lines shows three medium to large IP anomalies.
One of them coincides with the known gold mining area (the "Main Zone"). There
appears to be a continuation of this zone to both the west and southwest, with
varying intensity. Another anomalous zone is located south of the Main Zone and
appears to be deeper and parallel to the known area, again with varying
intensity. A third area with a strong IP anomaly coincident with a RES anomaly
is detected to the southeast of the Main Zone. Detailed processing of the data
is ongoing.
Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling of 1,700 metres is planned for early August
to test and verify the known mineralised zone and its possible extension
beneath the alluvium.
Technical information in the Company news release has been reviewed and
approved by Ciceron "Jun" Angeles (MSc. FAusIMM, CP Geo), the Company's
Exploration Manager.
