                Appointment of Non-Executive Technical Director


The Board of Caspian Holdings Plc is pleased to announce the immediate
appointment of Dr Andrew Robinson as Non-Executive Technical Director.


Andrew George Robinson, aged 47, has a PhD in Geology and over 20 years
experience working in the Oil and Gas industry including 10 years at BP, JKX Oil
and Gas and Ramco.  For the last 5 years Dr Robinson has been a global
exploration consultant to the major international oil and gas companies,
including: BP, Statoil, Shell and OMV and to the International Finance
Corporation (World Bank)


Dr Robinson brings to Caspian Holdings significant experience in the Caspian and
Black Sea region. He has worked extensively in the Former Soviet Union including
work in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia and is author of 'Regional
and Petroleum Geology of the Black Sea' (American Association of Petroleum
Geologists 1998).


Commenting on the appointment, Executive Chairman Michael Masterman said "We are
delighted have Dr Robinson join the Caspian board.  His strong technical and
Caspian region specific geological experience will greatly assist the Company's
plans to expand oil production operations in Kazakhstan"

There is no other information that is required to be disclosed pursuant to
Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules.


With the appointment of Dr Robinson, Malcolm James who joined the Board at the
time of listing will retire. The Board wishes to thank Mr James for his enormous
contribution to the Company over the last 2 years.
