The net asset values announced should have been 245.21p and 244.25p respectively
and not 245.21p and 245.68p as previously advised.

Charter European Trust PLC

As recommended by the AIC, financial assets are now valued on a bid price basis
in accordance with revised UK accounting standards.

Charter European Trust PLC announces that at close of business on 27 April 2007:

1)   the capital net asset value per ordinary share was 245.21p and

2)   based on the number of shares held in treasury, the net asset value per
ordinary share was 244.25p.
