Charter European Trust PLC, announces that on 9 March 2007 it purchased, for
cancellation, 52,600 Ordinary 1p Shares (representing 0.19% of the issued
Ordinary Capital), at a price of 203.06p per Ordinary Share.

Settlement of the purchased 52,600 Ordinary Shares is due on 14 March  2007.

Following the purchase and cancellation of the 52,600 Ordinary Shares, the total
number of Treasury shares held by the Company will be 1,485,000. The issued
share capital of the Company, less the total number of Ordinary Shares held in
Treasury, will be 27,438,088 Ordinary 1p Shares.
