Pre-Close Trading Update for the Six Months to 31 October 2005

Clipper Round The World Race Update

Clipper Ventures Plc (`Clipper' or the `Company'), the ocean racing company
known for the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race and the 5-Oceans Solo Grand
Prix, announces a trading update for half year to 31 October 2005.

The past six months have seen a continuation of strong revenue generation for
the Company and intense activity surrounding the start of the Clipper 05-06
Round the World race from Liverpool last month. The results, expected to be
announced at end November, will see the Company moving into profitability and
on track to meet market expectations for the full year to April 2006.

Clipper Race Progress

All ten of our 68 foot racing yachts achieved the first main leg last week,
Liverpool to Port of Brazil, without incident. The lead yacht is Western
Australia Clipper, although all yachts arrived within 17 hours of each other
over the 3000 miles. Our new racing yachts have performed ahead of the
skippers' expectations in all respects and intense competition is expected in
the next leg across the Southern Ocean to Durban.
